Foodstuff manufacturers continually strive to reduce manufacturing losses and failures during production. However, if high-quality surpluses do result from manufacture, despite all of the efforts made, then animal feeds are the best way to use broken biscuits, chocolate manufactured to the wrong recipe, and the like. The processed surpluses are a high-quality source of energy for the animal feed industry, allowing it to make a significant contribution to a sustainable food chain.
